about the artist

It is difficult to point to a moment in time when I began making art. I like to think I was born an artist, as all children are. I believe I was designed with a curiosity and a desire to create, but it didn't start with putting marks on paper. It began by noticing the delicate structure of wildflowers, the graceful bends in grasses and reeds, and the ornate architecture of branches overhead.

Growing up, I always knew more names of flowers and trees than celebrities. Still do. I am thankful for the time I spent in my mother's gardens or off on an adventure down some abandoned logging trail with my family. It's where I learned to appreciate the quiet, still places and see the beautiful detail in the ordinary. God's creation is a wonderous thing.

Although born in California, my early years were spent learning the quiet rhythms of rural Wisconsin, where wide fields meet dense forests and the seasons shape daily life. These landscapes—marked by autumn’s crisp edges, the golden haze of summer, and the stillness of fog-draped mornings—live at the heart of my work.

Watercolor allows me to step back and watch as pigment drifts and settles, much like mist across a meadow or light filtered through a winding garden path. I paint because it brings me joy, and I simply want to add to the beauty I see in my small corner of the world.

Above all else, I am a Christ follower. My hope is that these works invite the viewer to pause, offering a glimpse of the subtle yet profound beauty and grace that renews the soul day by day. â€‹
